The best visual guide for Disney Cruise Line

06.01.23 | Kayla | No Comments

Are you traveling on a Disney Cruise soon? If so, I have an amazing tool for you to use. Whether you are traveling with young children or traveling with a special needs child that needs to be frontloaded, Disney Cruise Line came out with a “My Disney Cruise Adventure Booklet” that will surely get your little one excited to cruise.

The downloadable booklet is so cute and it has tons of information to prepare your little one for their magic on the seas.

We know that children with special needs often respond better to visual supports rather than auditory so these booklets are genius for frontloading your child on what ship they’re sailing on, what they need to pack, transportation to the port, checking in at the terminal and so much more.

We’re Checking In

What I love most about these booklets, is that it truly takes you step by step through everything you will experience. There are also great “parent tips” on each page of the booklet.

At the beginning of the booklet your children can learn all about the checking in process. How they will go through security, obtain their “key to the world” cards, and get ready to board. All of these activities can be nerve-wrecking for a child let alone a special needs child. So it so awesome that Disney provides resources like this so we can prepare.

Assembly Drill

Okay! I am not going to lie, this is my least favorite part of the Disney Cruise even though it is to ensure our safety. The muster drill is to ensure that guests know what to do in case of an emergency. There are many announcements and then there are seven short horn blasts followed by one long horn blast. To many children it is uncomfortable. But it is nice to know that it is coming and again preparation is the key!

Meet your dining crew

One of my favorite parts about a Disney Cruise is the rotational dining and that your servers follow you to each of the restaurants that you visit. You truly get to know them, the countries they’re from, and it is hard to say goodbye when you leave. I think it is awesome that the Disney Cruise booklet has a page dedicated for the kids to get to know the servers. They truly do feel like family at the end of your cruise.

On deck activites for everyone

Another great page of the booklet, even though they’re all great and full of information, is the Deck Activities page. Here your child can view what there is to offer in regards to activities on board. Sports deck, Funnel vision movies, deck parties (pirate night is our favorite), and pool/waterslide activities are some of the fun things that Disney Cruise line highlights.

Preparation is key

As you can see, Disney Cruise Line did not hold back on their booklet. They understand that even though vacations are exciting, the unknown can be a little scary. They wanted to make sure that children (& parents) are prepared for everything. Disney truly maximizes your experience by providing a step by step guide like this.

Along with this guide, there are many things you need to know about your Disney Cruise. If you are interested in sailing on a Disney Cruise with your family, I would absolutely be honored to help you and your family plan a magical vacation on the seas.
